FAQ

What is an Android TV Box?

The Android TV Box is a multimedia system that works like an Android Phone or Tablet. Hundreds of apps are available through the Google Play Store, so you can customize your device to suit how you want to use it.

You can download web browsers, music players, games and more - turning your normal TV into a smart TV!

At present, there are lots of Android TV Apps in the Play Store, including apps for movies, sports, news, and games.

Is the Android Tv box legal to use?

The short answer is most definitely YES! Many people get confused and have misconception that Android TV Boxes are not legal. The TV Box is legal it really depends on how you are using it. If you are using it to view the copyrighted material illegally then the box is definitely not legal. But if you are using the TV Box by installing Netflix or any other authorized provider's service it is absolutely legal.

The Android Tv Box does not download, upload, copy or store any Media and in fact has no connection or association with the sites that host (store) any media. The Android Tv Box simply connects to sites and temporarily streams the data. The data (Movies or TV shows etc.) passes through your internet cables, through the Android Tv Box to your TV and watched by you but is never stored, copied or retained. This is how the apps like Netflix uses the Android TV box as a medium to help users benefit from what they have to offer.

Are there any Fees?

We only charge you for the purchase of the Android TV Box. In fact, we do not have any associations, connections or control over the streaming media that you view on your Android TV Box.

What do I need to do before I order?

  • Do a speed test (DoSpeedTest) to see that your internet connection is fast enough - if your connection download speed scores 15 Mbps or more you're ready for the Android Box
  • Make sure you know your wireless network password for your router
  • Have a spare plug socket within reach of the TV to power the Android Box
  • Your TV must have HDMI Socket

Do we guarantee the quality of the streams?

No. We cannot guarantee the quality, durability, longevity or integrity of the media streams. These streams originate from the companies like Netflix and are completely out of our control or influence. Having said that, as long as you have a good quality broadband connection you will always experience a more than satisfactory streams.

The vast majority of streams are great quality and in HD. You may have to contact your service provider for more information if you have trouble using their services.

What do I do if the stream is constantly Buffering or Freezing?

There are two main reasons for this:

  1. The stream that you are trying to connect to do not have enough bandwidth to deliver the stream adequately
Solution: Stop the stream and select a different one
  2. Your Internet or Wi-Fi connection is inadequate
Solution: Either upgrade your internet connection or start using an Ethernet (wired) connection instead of a wireless (Wi-Fi) connection

Should I Use Wi-Fi or a Cable To Connect My Android Tv Box?

In General, a wired (Ethernet or RJ45 Cable) is always best because a direct connection does not suffer from any interference that Wi-Fi connections are subjected to. The speed of a direct cable connection is always faster than a Wi-Fi connection. If your ISP (Internet Service Provider) have located your broadband router in the same room as your TV then you can connect directly to your Stream Free TV Box via a cable. If your Broadband router is in another room or even another floor then you can use Wi-Fi

Interference is an issue that can impact a Wi-Fi router just like it can impact a radio station.  If any other device is using the same frequency and channel as your router, the performance of both may be reduced.

Ethernet is very much alive and well in homes that, for whatever reason, find Wi-Fi to be unreliable. For the most part, a direct connection will not experience interference and the speed is always faster and more reliable. We recommend that you connect to the internet directly if your Wi-Fi has proven unreliable.  Check your internet speed with our best speed checker (http://www.dospeedtest.com
